Trained in Art and Design, initially at Burslem School of Art, under Reginald Hagger and Arthur Berry.

Gained National Diploma in Design.

Then specialised in Industrial Design at Stoke on Trent Polytechnic.

Gained Post Graduate Diploma and Bachelor of Arts Degree.

Awarded an associate to the Royal Society of Arts, and seconded to work for a short while in both New York and Montreal.

Subsequently awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts.

Gained Licentiate to the Society of Industrial Artists.

Staff designer for Johnson Matthey, prior to entering into the teaching profession.

Ultimately rising from Head of the Faculty of Design and Technology, to Senior Teacher and Deputy Head at Woodford Lodge High School in Cheshire. This was Cheshires second purpose built Comprehensive school and became its flagship for many years, in promoting this form of education worldwide!

Organised and participated in many art educational residential courses both in Italy, and the authorities centres on Anglesy, and at Tattenhall and also Langley, Macclesfield.

On retirement, I commenced to run the A-levels exams in Art Design and Technology still at Woodford, and was instrumental in first developing computer generated design in secondary education in Cheshire. This to a level where we contributed to The Open University BBC2 television broadcasts, and were published through the National Centre for Education Technology in their publication ‘Fusion – Art and Information Technology in Practice’.

Latterly for another three years, acted as Computer Art and I.T Advisor for the whole of Staffordshire under the leadership of the then County Advisor Mr Olaf Hindmarsh.

Currently still working (part-time) for AQA examinations board, as a Team Leader and senior moderator.

Have had numerous exhibitions of paintings and sculptures, but all only at a local level. New Vic Theatre, Hartshill. Lyceum, Crewe. Bears Paw Galleries, Shrewsbury. Keele University, and various galleries as a member of The Society of Staffordshire Artists.
